Wilderness Medicine Trainings
Olympic Park Institute offers wilderness medical training for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts. These are nationally recognized training courses that provide you with tools to respond to emergencies that arise in remote settings.

In this intensive, hands-on course, you'll gain the skills to make sound medical decisions in remote settings. You will learn the ins and outs of patient assessment, blister management, sprains, strains and breaks, medical emergencies, hypothermia, and evacuation techniques. This fast paced and comprehensive course is designed for the casual observer and professionals.
Wilderness First Responder

This intensive 7-day course is designed for outdoor professionals as well as anyone who spends time in the backcounty with responsibility for groups of family and friends. Topics include: patient assessment, body systems, equipment improvisation, trauma, environmental medicine, toxins, backcounty medicine, wilderness protocols, and wilderness rescue. You will divide your time between classroom instruction, hands-on practical skills, case studies, and scenarios designed to challenge your decision making ability. Upon completion, students receive Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, good for 3 years.
