Our Headlands and Yosemite Institutes offer teen leadership programs that encourage community involvement, environmental consciousness, and wilderness exploration.
TEAM
The Teen Environmental Action Mentorship (TEAM) program is a year-long leadership program for high school students in San Francisco, Richmond, East Palo Alto, and Marin County.
Youth Quest
Each spring, Headlands Institute hosts YouthQuest, a weekend environmental conference for teens. Workshops are led by high school students for their peers. Students also participate in stewardship projects in the park.
Summer field research
Students entering grade 11 can join park scientists in field research this summer. This is a unique opportunity for teens to investigate real questions about the biodiversity and health of the Yosemite National Park ecosystem with professional scientists. College credit and scholarships are available.
Armstrong Scholars
Inspired by former instructor Joie Armstrong, the Armstrong Scholars program brings young women, ages 15 to 18, together for an all-female summer
backpacking adventure and educational experience in the spectacular
High Sierra.
