Communications Associate
This is a full time position working out of the administrative offices of Yosemite National Institutes. The
Administrative Offices are relocating from Sausalito to Downtown San Francisco in October of 2008.
Yosemite National Institutes is committed to effectively reaching target audiences including supporters, the National Park Service, media, government leaders, and other stakeholders. We are equally committed to assisting our campuses in creating and implementing effective communication and marketing strategies.
The Communications Director provides communications and branding services to our campuses ensuring quality and consistency throughout the organization. This position implements a comprehensive branding and communications plan utilizing the website and web-store, printed publications, strategic partnerships, and public relations. The Communications Associate reports to the Communications Director.
Website:
Manage all aspects of the Yosemite National Institutes website
Perform / facilitate web and print updates copy, images, new features
Work with vendors and consultants to build site out
Develop and maintain online store
Facilitate updates for all partner websites
Brand:
Maintain style guidelines and templates for web, email and print materials
Implement strategy for increased brand recognition and
visibility
Marketing & Communications:
Maintain master communications calendar
Coordinate all printed materials and assist campuses with printed materials
Update and maintain digital image library of
Yosemite National Institutes
and campus images
Coordinate marketing and communications efforts with the Development team
Assist with and promote fundraising events
Other Projects:
The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency in Windows, web and desktop publishing applications
Ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently complete varied tasks
Available to work occasional weekends and evenings
Outstanding interpersonal skills; must have credibility, good judgment, honesty, and integrity
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player and with grace and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
