Teacher Training Course Description and Schedule
Research shows that academic performance increases with experiential education. Professional educators at Headlands Institute will train you in methods that have brought school subjects to life for students for nearly 30 years. Daily activities include: outdoor explorations, observations, team building exercises as well as access to our marine and freshwater labs. All levels of physical fitness and ability are accommodated.
Our program is set in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The park's unique coastal ecology and historic significance provides opportunities to learn teaching methods for:
Session 1: Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 2008
Session 2: Monday, August 11 - Friday, August 15, 2008
The course runs 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily, with evening programs from 7 - 8:30 p.m. We also offer optional early morning hikes that explore the natural history of the Marin Headlands.
